NEC and UPBOND have begun technical validation of a next-generation authentication platform that combines Verifiable Credentials (VC) utilizing biometric authentication technology with Login 3.0.

Technical Background

• NEC's Biometric Authentication VC: Stores biometric data linked to facial recognition in digital certificates, enabling highly accurate and rapid identity verification
• UPBOND's Login 3.0: Built on decentralized ID (DID) technology, it enables users to securely manage their own digital IDs

Target Industries

The system is designed for use in three industries: hotel check-in, access control at construction sites, and vehicle usage management.
