UPBOND HOSTS WEBINAR WITH LOTTE, PEGASUS TECH VENTURES, AND DELOITTE TOHMATSU TO DISCUSS THE POTENTIAL OF WEB 3.0 - ONLINE ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2022 FROM 6:00PM-7:30PM

(Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Shun Mizuoka) will discuss the root causes of Japan's lost 30 years of economic growth and the potential of Web 3.0 in Japan's revival, with Genichi Tamatsuka, Representative Director of Lotte Holdings Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), Fujishiro Ishiguro, Director of Pegasus Tech Ventures (Head Office: Sillicon Valley) and Yuma Saito, Representative Director of Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support Co. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), and Yuma Saito, President of Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support, will join us for an online event on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 18:00-19:30.

Mr. Mizuoka, CEO of Web 3.0 Startup, will give a presentation on how a large company should tackle the big change of Web 3.0. He will speak frankly about what he thinks about the Web 3.0 world. In addition, Mr. Saito, Representative Director of Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support, and Mr. Ishiguro, Director of Pegasus Tech Ventures will join us to discuss the possibilities of Web 3.0 and how Japan should utilize Web 3.0 to recover the lost 30 years using specific examples.

■Motoichi Tamatsuka, President and Representative Director, Lotte Holdings Corporation

AFTER GRADUATING FROM KEIO UNIVERSITY IN 1985, HE JOINED ASAHI GLASS CO. IN SEPTEMBER 2005, HE FOUNDED REVAMP CORPORATION, A COMPANY INVOLVED IN CORPORATE REVITALIZATION AND BUSINESS GROWTH, AND BECAME ITS PRESIDENT AND REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR. HE THEN JOINED LAWSON, INC. IN NOVEMBER 2010. AFTER SERVING AS DIRECTOR, REPRESENTATIVE EXECUTIVE OFFICER, AND COO OF THE COMPANY, HE BECAME PRESIDENT AND REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR IN MAY 2014, AND CHAIRMAN AND CEO IN JUNE 2016; IN JUNE 2017, HE BECAME PRESIDENT AND CEO OF DIGITAL HEARTS HOLDINGS, INC. AND IN JUNE 2021, HE BECAME PRESIDENT AND REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR OF LOTTE HOLDINGS, INC. TO PRESENT.

He is also a non-executive advisor to Digital Hearts Holdings, Inc., an outside director of transcosmos inc., chairman of Japan Rugby League One, and vice-chairman of Keizai Doyukai, a public interest incorporated association.

B.A. IN ECONOMICS, NAGOYA UNIVERSITY. MBA FROM STANFORD UNIVERSITY, USA.

After working in international marketing at Brother Industries and as a new business manager at Swarovski Japan, he founded a high-tech consulting firm in Silicon Valley, where he worked on alliances and technology transfers between Japan and the US for clients such as Yahoo, Netscape, Sony, and Panasonic. He participated in the MBO of Netyear Group in 1999 and has served as President and CEO since 2000. He has been a director since 2021 and a director of Pegasustec Holdings, Inc. since 2022.

He is currently a member of the Industrial Structure Council of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He has also served in a number of other public positions, including as a member of the Strategic Headquarters for the Promotion of an Advanced Information and Telecommunications Network Society, Cabinet Secretariat; the Committee on "Choosing the Future" of the Cabinet Office; and the Japan-U.S. Economic Research Institute 2016 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

■Yuma Saito, President, Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support Co.

In 2010, he participated in the business launch of Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support Corporation (now Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support Co., Ltd.) and assumed his current position in 2019. He is involved in supporting new business creation for large companies around the world and even developing venture policies. He is the founder of Morning Pitch, an early morning event where entrepreneurs present to 300 large corporations. He is the author of "How to Find the Job of a Lifetime" (Diamond Inc.). He has been featured in numerous media including newspapers, magazines, television, and online media. He was selected as one of the "2017 Nikkei Business 100 People Who Will Create the Next Generation. He has served as a member of the Keidanren Startup Ecosystem Reform Committee and vice-chairman of the New Economy and Society Committee of the Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives).

HIS SPECIALTY IS DIGITAL MARKETING AND OUTSOURCED SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT. 2017, HE CO-FOUNDED D2C BRAND UNDONE JAPAN (CUSTOMIZED WATCH BRAND). HE IS BASED IN JAPAN. IN 2019, HE SPUN OFF THE EXISTING CRM BUSINESS AND ESTABLISHED UPBOND, AIMING TO BECOME A GLOBAL COMPANY ORIGINATING FROM JAPAN.
